New Roundabout Road Rules

New NSW Road Rules

Drivers entering a roundabout and intending to turn either left or right, must give sufficient warning to other road users by signalling before entering the roundabout. – NRMA

New road rules relating to roundabouts came into effect on the 1st November.

Now drivers must indicate their course through a roundabout when approaching, and  quickly indicate left just before exiting a roundabout.

In Murwillumbah there are at least five major roundabouts.

Other important rules were created too: A driver cannot hold a mobile phone AT ALL now (thank you), Drivers cannot even hold a mobile anymore, and GPSs and DVD players must be commercially secured.

An excellent summary of the new NSW road rules, with a link to the new rules from Roads and Maritime Services (formerly the RTA) themselves can be found here.
